I’m Still Alive!

Long Time no see!  It has been over a week since I last posted!  I feel terrible about it but with the approaching Holiday, I was just really wrapped up.  A lot has happened and most of it has been enjoyable.  I am going out to lunch today with a friend and after lunch he is going to help me move my Treadmill into my car and then take it to a place to sell it.  Do you want to know why I am selling my treadmill?  Well, I decided to splurge big time for Christmas and get an Elliptical!  I am really excited because I have been using the elliptical a lot again and I think by having it in my house I will use it even more.

So, in order to catch my blog up I am going to do some more progress posts, product reviews, diet tips, and exercise tips.

Thin Tuesday

Today’s Skinny Motivation comes in the form of Reese Witherspoon.  Reese is one of the celebrities that we can actually see working out.  She looks wonderful in a dress on the red carpet and doesn’t look bad while she’s working up a sweat!  I wish I looked this good when I ran!

Staying Skinny on Halloween

It’s that time of the year again… time to stock up on fatty candies that we all can admit we love.  Its hard to stay focused on your diet whenever there are bowls of candy everywhere you turn.  Here are some tips to help on Halloween:

  • Buy Candy You DON’T Like!  By purchasing candies you hate, you won’t want to eat them at all!  If you are a fruity fan, stock up on chocolate.  It’s easy, just buy the bag of candy you would never touch.  Do you like all candy?  Then try stocking up on toys like tattoos, pencils, and erasers.  Its diet friendly for you and the youngsters!
  • Do you want just ONE bite?  Many people believe that since the Halloween candy is ‘mini’ then they can eat two or three and be ok.  The truth is, you are more inclined to eat more candy with fun sizes than you are with a normal sized candy bar.  It may sound crazy but a fun size Butterfinger packs in 100 calories and 4 grams of fat!!  If your looking for that one bite, try mini tootsie rolls and twizzlers.  Both are low in fat and won’t add inches to your waistline.
  • Don’t Beat Yourself Up- Ok… so you had a fun sized candy bar, or two, or maybe even three.  But that doesn’t mean everything is out the window.  Pick yourself up and throw the wrappers in the garbage bin.  Then, sit down and write down why you ate the candy.  Were you hungry? thirsty?  bored?  Figure out why it happened and then you can prevent it when it happens again!

How Heather Graham Keeps in Shape

Heather is a great, healthy role model and has three secrets that help her keep her toned figure.

  • Never Say Diet- The word ‘diet’ does not exist in Heather’s vocabulary.  She believes that you should eat both healthy and often.  “My friends laugh at me because I love to cook and I eat a lot.”

  • Stand Up For Whats Right-  Heather is a huge advocate for women’s issues and she believes that women should have all the same rights as any one else.  “I’m big for girl power”

  • Workout-  Since Heather enjoys food so much, she has to counteract it with workouts.  She enjoys almost daily workouts such as yoga and pilates.

Skinny Motivation

Monday’s does of motivation comes in the form of Jessica Biel!  She is constantly photographed exercising and buying fresh veggies at Farmers Markets.  In my opinion, she has the absolute perfect body.  She sure does motivate me to do my squats!

Sunday Weigh In

I stepped on the scale this morning and it flashed that I was down a pound since yesterday     I am surprised I lost because I did have some white rice sushi and some sugary cereal…  but today I am eating better.  Baby steps!

My whole body is sore from the workout it had to endure yesterday.  I put myself through a mini ‘boot camp’.  I went through stations and did 45 minutes worth of stations.  Some of the stations were: abs, jump rope, jumping jacks, arm curls, push ups, sit ups, ect.  I am very happy with this mornings results and I can’t wait to lose more.

Total loss to date- 7 pounds

Motivational Music

Majority of the time I do not listen to music while I am running but there are always those days where I feel no motivation and I need a little extra push.  On these days, I hook up my video iPod and crank up those tunes!  Music is awesome for ab work and it can really make the difference when your body is screaming at you to stop.  So, I have decided to put together a nice little workout playlist and share it.  These are my favorite pump up songs and I guarantee they will make you sweat!

  1. Stronger- Kanye West
  2. First It Giveth- Queens of the Stone Age
  3. Wake The Dead- Comeback Kid
  4. Where is Everybody?  Nine Inch Nails
  5. I Believe in a Thing Called Love- The Darkness
  6. I want you so hard- Eagles of Death Metal
  7. Radar- Britney Spears
  8. Time won’t let me go- The Bravery

Total Time: 31 minutes
